Wayne County has lots of reasons to be proud of its accomplishments and athletics are right up at the top of that list. For one thing, many of Ohio’s 88 counties don’t even have a sports hall of fame. For those that do, one would be hard-pressed to find another rural county like Wayne that has as rich a tradition or maintains such fervor for athletics.
